I'mJust waiting for competition to the area(
Recently i have been experiencing intermittent Internet service, I tried rebooting, resetting , unplugging and eventually went to the Cox store and pick up a new modem/router and it still did not work. I was on line with a Cox tech for 45 minutes and nothing but lies and no resolution. Called back later to a different tech 1 hour 47minutes with not resolution, however they scheduled a tech to come within a two window the next day(No-Show). Called back to determined what happened and was told they changed my appointment to the next week. (without notifying me of the change) I tried to cancel my service 1037 am Saturday and they transferred me to the Loyalty group to complete this transaction. I know this where they try and get unsatisfied customizers to reconsider and find resolution, but they transferred me to a number that said the office was closed at the time (10:37 AM), when there message says that they are open form 8:00 AM until 6:PM. I call back and received a tech who obviously understood my frustration and stated he would into it and call back in 30 minutes. it is now 60 minutes pass the time that he was suppose to call and I'm writing a complete letter for the first time in my life. I hope your experience is better, but I'm looking for a new provider. more...

The most frustrating company I've ever dealt with
The worst company I have ever dealt with. Daily, I have trouble connecting to the internet at all and when I do, the service is spotty at best. I've had probably 20 techs out here in the last 3 months and each has a different reason for the problems but none can fix it. They have literally lied about their techs being on my street (my street is one block long - I can see from end to end). They have a monopoly in my area or I would switch to ANY other company. I get upload speeds of 0.23Mbps regularly but I pay for 5.0Mbps. Download speeds of 1-5Mbps and I pay for 50Mbps. They keep charging me for the tech visits but nothing has been done within my home (besides checking the signals and all are good), all problems exist on the pole. I had one tech tell me it was a tree on the lines, but they won't cut down the tree. So I called customer service about the tree and Marvin told me, "Tell your husband, 'Baby, I'll make you a bagel' and I bet he'll cut down that tree for you." What does that even mean?! They know they hold monopolies in several markets so they have no incentive to provide quality service. If you have any other option, do not choose Cox. more...

Better Than Most
I've had COX for several years. There are other ISPs in the area, but with COX, I have basic TV (broadcast stations only, through cable) and basic internet. The other ISPs want to sell me premium cable, and telephone service, but I don't want it. I get the bare minimum from COX, and am able to pay just for the services I want. The service has been mostly solid. I can watch Netflix, download/upload photos, etc. I might have an occasional issue with my service, but telephone customer support is very responsive and helpful; they have always corrected my issue remotely, or have been able to walk me through the troubleshooting process. COX recently went all digital and now I have to pay for the mini boxes (one per TV). I'm not happy about the added cost, but COX is still cheaper than everyone else, in the area. more...
